A long-standing Crewe-based physiotherapy company has handed over the reins to North West-based True Physio Ltd after 30 years.

Rick Carter founded ctchealthcare after starting his career in physiotherapy with football teams such as Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Stoke City and will be remaining within the business, focusing on prescribing and administering painkiller injections.

When starting the company 30 years ago, he was based above a gym, as a one-man clinic but has since seen his practice grow to have 4 branches within Cheshire and Staffordshire, including Crewe and Nantwich. Alongside the physiotherapy practice, Mr. Carter remains one of only a few physios in the country who is qualified to prescribe medication such as anti-inflammatories.

It was the global pandemic that spurred him to seek future investment. He said of the investment.

"My mission has always been just to make people feel better and I'm proud ctchealthcare has grown to become a recognised and trusted healthcare provider in South Cheshire and North Staffordshire.

"I felt that surviving the COVID-19 pandemic was a key driver in looking to secure significant investment to both protect the current staff and service and inject new ideas and energy.

a strong desire to offer high-quality healthcare to the community. The investors, Solid Bond Capital, have a proven track record of investing in, and building strong, healthy businesses.

"I am in no doubt that the company, and our patients, are in the best of hands. The deal allows me to step back from active business management and focus on offering an enhanced service to my clients, including prescribing corticosteroid injections.

"I would like to thank all the staff, especially Clinical and Operations Manager Ben Ratcliffe, for their amazing support, especially over the last 24 months. Special thanks to my wife, Emily who has worked hard to make this deal happen and will continue to work as a Business Development & Brand Manager in the new business."

True Physio Ltd. Has grown rapidly since founder Andy Byrne opened the first clinic in Sale, in 2018. The company now has 5 bases across Lancashire and West Yorkshire, including Lancaster, Skipton, Bingley, and Blackburn.

The company commented.

"At True Physio, we are growing a team of lovely people who are determined to help a lot of people relieve their pain. Rick and the Team have been doing this for nearly 30 years and so working with them is such an exciting opportunity to help more local people.

"The bottom line is pain is horrible. No one wants it and our aim to is 'fight back' and give everyone we see a chance to get back to doing the things they love."
