Sandbach's Co-op Pioneer makes his choices for Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day tomorrow (Tuesday) and what better way to treat your loved one than cooking up a storm in the kitchen?

The Co-op has come up with a romantic three-course deal. You can serve a starter, main, side, dessert and bottle of wine for £20, or £15 when you swap the wine for a soft drink. Members can get the deal for £16 with wine or £12 with a soft drink.

There's a good choice which includes a Mediterranean antipasti selection or two Scotch eggs, mains include mushroom Wellington parcels and sirloin steak while puddings include dark chocolate and raspberry velvet tortes or tart au citron.

We asked our Sandbach Co-op pioneer, Arnie Laing, pictured below, an avid fan of Co-op products, what he will be serving for his partner, Pam.

Co-op pioneers create local action plans that mean Co-op can provide support at a local level and work very closely with the Local Community Fund recipients which are Local Causes that are supported by the local Co-op Members.

Arnie said: "My choices after much deliberation will be the Scotch eggs to start followed by Scottish salmon en croute with prawns with garden medley and to finish dark chocolate and raspberry velvet torte.

"We will have a bottle of Prosecco with it and might have to go more than once - if not three or four times so we can sample all the choices," joke Arnie.

Arnie's partner Pam is busy choosing their Valentine's Co-op meal in Elworth, Sandbach.

If you'd rather cook your own meal, Co-op has a mouth-watering selection of Valentine's Day recipes which look as good as they taste.
