A decision on plans to demolish a former Sandbach pub and build a care home due before Cheshire East

A former pub which was the scene of a major fire last week is boarded up and due to go before a planning committee shortly.

Sandbach Nub News told here how Crown Care was hoping for a breakthrough with plans to build a 60-bed care home on the site in Sweettooth Lane.

Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service launched an investigation into the cause of last Wednesday's fire after more than 20 firefighters fought a blaze as we told here

Since the fire, signs have gone up saying "Warning, Construction Site, Keep Out" and "Danger, Demolition, Keep Out" .

Now a planning application to demolish The Limes public house and construction a 60-bed care home with car parking and landscaping is due to be heard by Cheshire East Council on June 28th.

Residents have until Friday (June 9th) to submit comments about the proposed plan which can be viewed here
