From burgers to bonbons - a mother and daughter have launched a mobile sweet shop after working together on other projects.

Delvina Warburton from Elworth and daughter Laura Warburton from Scholar Green, have launched the 'Pink Candy Club', a mobile sweet trailer full of traditional sweets and pick 'n' mix.

The pair bought a trailer and then turned it into a sweet-lovers' dream, complete with containers full of favourites such as Everton mints and Coca Cola Cubes not to mention Jelly Babies.

"I've always had a sweet tooth and there's nothing like this around," said Laura, who is hoping daughter Fleur will hone her mathematical and business skills occasionally helping during the school holidays.

"We literally sat together round the kitchen table and discussed what we planned to do. My mum and I have worked together before so this is nothing new," added Laura who lives in Wavertree Avenue.

"We want to take the trailer out to all kinds of events and it can be hired out too. We've been to a few nursing homes already and it's lovely to see customers coming up and buying old-fashioned sweets.

"I just love the colour pink so that's why we've gone for this branding. We've got a Facebook page and the word is getting around."

Delvina, known as Del, is excited about the new venture and together with her daughter is hosting an open day event tomorrow (Saturday) on her driveway in Elton Road.

"We want to show people what's available and we plan to open the trailer on the drive too occasionally so people can buy sweets," said Del, who ran the former Ring of Bells in Sandbach a while back and was also a former licensee at Malkins Bank Golf Club.

"We've got all kinds of ideas. I'm known for my brownies so who knows how the business might develop? We're excited about the future and we're getting all kinds of enquiries including people who want to hire it for weddings and other events."

The duo's Facebook page is here and their open day takes place from 10 am until 2pm tomorrow at 6 Elton Road, Sandbach.
