Sandbach High School and Sixth Form has reacted to the success of its students on A-Level Results Day 2024.

The school said: "Congratulations to our Year 13 students on their well-deserved success in their A level and applied level three results.

"We are delighted that this year's results are even higher than in 2023 with a 7 per cent increase in the number of A* to B grades.

Maggie (Sandbach High School and Sixth Form).

"Our students can be very proud of what they have achieved with 35.5% of grades at A* to A and 65% of grades at A* to B or equivalent.

"We were delighted nine students achieved exclusively A and A* grades and thirty students achieved at least one A* grade. Maggie Chen scored four A* grades across A level Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

"Imogen Rietkerk achieved A* grades in Economics, Computer Science and EPQ alongside an A in Maths.

"Our Head Student, Liv Sabelek, achieved A* grades in Psychology, Religious Studies and EPQ alongside A grades in English Literature and Core Maths. Grace Barber was our top achieving student in vocational subjects achieving double starred Distinction in Health and Social Care alongside a starred Distinction in Food Science.

"We are also particularly proud of our success right across our subjects, including our applied qualifications where 78% of entries were Distinction grade or higher.

"This excellent achievement means that our students will be going on to a wide range of exciting destinations.

"These include Ancient and Modern History at The University of Oxford; Theology, Religion and Philosophy at Cambridge University; Economics at The University of Bath; Chemistry at The University of Liverpool and Fine Art at The University of Loughborough.

"In addition, we have students taking up apprenticeships in a variety of roles including DE and S Digital Technology Solutions, Linguistics Analysis in the Royal Air Force, Air Traffic Control and Architectural Technology at Miller Homes.

Melina N with her mum (Sandbach High School and Sixth Form).

"The success of this group of students is much deserved. We have been impressed throughout the past two years by their diligence, maturity and intellectual curiosity.

"We have no doubt this impressive group of young people will go on to excel both in Higher Education and employment."
