Sandbach teenager, Charlie Phillips, a student at Sandbach School, has been doing a week's work experience with Sandbach Nub News.

We asked him to say what he liked about town and what it's like as a teenager living in Sandbach,

"Living in Sandbach as a teenager opens many different opportunities with plenty of things to do like going to the gym, playing sports in clubs and it also provides many chances to make different friendships with people of all ages and personalities," said Charlie.

"However, the main thing I like about Sandbach is the communal feel it gives me as everyone you meet is super friendly and welcoming and there are lots of different things you can do to be part of a smaller community in Sandbach like running clubs or church visits etc.

"Another reason I like living in Sandbach as a teenager is I can walk round by myself at any time of day without having to worry about any unnecessary events happening due to its low crime rates.

"This allows me to go to the park and meet up with friends giving me more freedom to do what I want, which helps me keep a clear mind.

"Although I think Sandbach has almost everything a town would need to thrive I do think they should open more retail stores like clothes shops etc.

"I think this would help bring new people from outside Sandbach to the town which would be great for the local economy, and it also provides something fun to do for all the people who live here anyway.

"I also think that Sandbach should embrace its history a bit more as there are lots of places that tell a story in Sandbach and may be interesting for people who don't live in the area which would once again be great for the local economy if they were to charge to see them.

"My experience going to school in Sandbach has also been excellent as it has taught me so much about myself, others and how people are different in their own ways.

"It has also taught me self-discipline and in the later years, something greater - it has taught me to show respect everywhere I go whether it's playing sports, in a classroom or even just in my day-to-day life.

"Whilst learning these great morals it has also shown me never to say no to an opportunity because I have been able to play for three different sports teams throughout my time in Sandbach school which helped me realise what I enjoy which is the most important thing.

"Studying at Sandbach school is also a great and secure system where you never feel like you are falling behind with work as they always look to guide you in the right direction making sure you do what is best for you and your future.

"Overall, I think living in Sandbach as a teenager is great and offers many great schools, clubs and communities to be a part of where tons of different relationships can be made and cherished with great people.

"I think being a teenager here is more of an opportunity to have a promising future but also to have a great childhood with the endless things the town offers."
