Sandbach Town Council has announced another vacancy for a councillor. Councillor Ian Williams has resigned from the Ettiley Heath and Wheelock Ward for "personal reasons".

This comes just days after the resignation of Councillor Sue Ashcombe-Hurt who is also believed to have resigned for "personal reasons". A spokesman said it was nothing unusual for the time of year.

There are 20 councillors on the town council, five representing each of the four wards – Town Ward, Elworth Ward, Sandbach Heath & West Ward and Ettiley Heath & Wheelock Ward.
