Death in Paradise's new spin-off, Beyond Paradise, starts tonight.

Death in Paradise fans will be glued to their TV screens tonight – including Sandbach resident and TV director, Ruth Carney.

Ruth who lives in Sandbach Heath, directed the Christmas special, as we told here https://sandbach.nub.news/news/local-news/christmas-comes-early-for-the-sandbach-director-of-crime-drama-death-in-paradise-136612 as well as other episodes.

And tonight (Friday) she will watch the new series 'at some point' as the spin-off to the Caribbean drama, Beyond Paradise, is aired for the first time.

Bumbling Caribbean detective, Humphrey Goodman, has left the Caribbean and taken a new posting in the sleepy Devon seaside town of Shipton Abbott.

It might not have the colour of the Caribbean but the spin-off, which airs at 8pm on BBC 1 today is sure to delight fans of the popular crime drama.

Talented former Talke Pits girl, Ruth Carney, has directed a host of productions from Casualty to Father Brown and Emmerdale.

Ruth has just finished filming a new series of Brassic. Sandbach Nub News wishes her much success for the rest of 2023.

Such a talented lady!
