An 18-year-old from Sandbach is hospitalised after car and ambulance collide in 'serious' incident

Two men, aged 18 and 19, remain in hospital with "serious injuries," following a collision between a car and ambulance in Crewe over the weekend.

On Saturday 7 December, Cheshire Police received reports of an incident on Tottys Hall Way, Leighton, off Minshull New Road.

At 5.15pm, emergency services rushed to the scene, discovering a black Ford Fiesta and an ambulance had collided.

The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man from Sandbach, and one of the passengers, a 19-year-old man from Winsford, were severely injured.

They both remain in hospital at this time receiving treatment.

Two other Fiesta passengers sustained minor injuries in the collision, along with a patient travelling in the ambulance.

Enquiries into the collision on the new Crewe road, which opened in July, remain ongoing.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At around 5.15pm on Saturday 7 December, police were called to reports of a collision on Tottys Hall Way, Leighton.

"Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved a black Ford Fiesta and an ambulance. 

"The driver of the Fiesta, an 18-year-old man from Sandbach, and one of the passengers, a 19-year-old man from Winsford, sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital at this time receiving treatment.

"A patient travelling in the ambulance at the time of the collision sustained minor injuries.

"Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and anyone with any information or video footage is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101, or via the website, quoting IML 1979583."
