Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a hit and run collision near Middlewich.
At 6pm on Sunday 18 January, police were called to a collision on the A533, Bostock Road, in Stanthorne.
Officers attended and found that a pedal cyclist had been hit by a car, believed to be a black Mercedes or a black BMW, which failed to stop at the scene.
The cyclist, a 16-year-old local boy, was injured as a result of the incident and taken to Leighton Hospital.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing for information from the public.
PC James Lasok-Smith, of the Road and Crime Unit, said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch with us. This occurred at a busy road when there would have been a lot of traffic in the area.
"The same goes for anyone with any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.
"You can report information to us by calling 101 or you can visit our website www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us quoting IML-2253902."
