Appeal for information after man, 64, taken to hospital with serious injuries following incident in Sandbach

Police are appealing for information after a 64-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were assaulted in the centre of Sandbach.
Police were called to Market Square at 7.09pm on Saturday (26 April) following reports of an assault outside the Market Tavern.
A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "A 64-year-old man was assaulted and taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 47-year-old woman was also assaulted but did not need hospital treatment."
They are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 2077382. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
