BREAKING: Cheshire East to remain in tier 2

Cheshire East will remain in tier 2 over the Christmas holiday period, the health secretary has announced.
Rates of infection in the borough sits at 119 cases per 100,000 in the most recent data, which shows a rise on the week before.
Under the restrictions non-essential retail can remain open and hospitality venues can only operate if they serve a 'substantial meal'. Mixing with other households in any indoor setting is also banned.
Rules for Christmas mean that up to three households can form a bubble between 23 and 27 December.
Before the announcement was made, Cheshire East Council leader said in a video on social media: "I and many other council leaders are frustrated that the government is not consulting with local authority leaders over this important decision."
