Robinsons Brewery, which has a number of pubs in the Sandbach area, has celebrated its 185th anniversary.

The brewery was founded on 29th September 1838 and has been serving city pubs and quaint country inns alike with beer.

In nearly two centuries, the brewery has seen six generations of the Robinson family at the helm. Its estate comprises 260 pubs, inns, and hotels.

Current joint managing directors Oliver and William Robinson said: "We're thrilled to reach this remarkable milestone. It's a testament to the enduring love for our beers and pubs, and the dedication of our teams."

Robinsons is behind such beers as Old Tom and Trooper - indeed, Bruce Dickinson himself of Iron Maiden visited the brewery recently to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this latter beer.

Robinsons said in a statement: "Robinsons sends a huge thanks to the local community and all beer enthusiasts who have supported them throughout the years. Here's to another 185 years of brewing excellence."

Robinsons has several local pubs, including the Swan & Chequers and the Market Tavern in Sandbach, the Legs of Man at Arclid, the Hawk Inn at Haslington and the George and Dragon in Holmes Chapel.
