A broadband issue has hit around 100 homes in Sandbach and other areas after hardware at an exchange "lost communication".

One Elworth resident, who did not want to be named, told how she had been without the internet for several hours.

She said: "Last week there was a fault with cables at the cabinet and this week I've lost the internet again. It's hard working from home."

A spokesperson from EE said: "There was a fault in the hardware at the Willaston exchange and engineers are working on it. It's hoped it will be fixed by 5 pm today (Tuesday)."
