A running club in Sandbach is taking part in a nationwide campaign to help women feel safe in the dark.
Sandbach Striders is supporting the "Let's Lift the Curfew", a nationwide initiative from This Girl Can and England Athletics drawing attention to the unwanted curfew many women feel during the winter months.
On Monday (27 October), the club is hosting an inclusive run at 6 pm from Sandbach Rugby Club in Bradwall Road and all women are welcome to attend.
A spokesperson from Sandbach Striders said: "The run will bring together local people from Sandbach and the surrounding area to highlight the barriers many women face when exercising after dark.

"As the nights draw in, almost half of women say they feel unsafe running in the dark. Concerns around harassment and assaults deter many from lacing up their shoes."
Let's Lift the Curfew launched in 2023 and has become a national movement with an annual campaign when the clocks go back.
It aims to amplify women's stories, promote allyship, and encourage wider culture awareness of issues that deter many from running during the darker months.
The clocks go back this weekend when we will gain an extra hour on Sunday. They go back overnight on Saturday (25 October).
Anyone is welcome to attend the Sandbach Striders' "Let's Lift the Curfew Run". Email [email protected] or send a message on Facebook if you wish to go along.
