Angry Sandbach residents have launched a petition calling for urgent action to resolve persistent flooding under a railway bridge.
Residents living near to the road under Ettiley Heath Railway Bridge and other motorists using the road say they have had enough of the flooding.
Now they are calling on as many people as possible to sign a petition to get something done about the flooding.
"As local residents of Sandbach, we are deeply affected by the persistent flooding under the Ettiley Heath Railway Bridge," said a spokesperson.
"This problem has been reported hundreds of times over a span of 10 years and yet remains unresolved.
"The flooding significantly impacts our daily lives - from commuting to work or school, running businesses, to receiving essential deliveries.
"Even more concerning is the potential hindrance it poses for emergency services."
The road is used by motorists as a back route to get to work at Leighton Hospital in Crewe or other jobs in the nearby town.
Campaigners say alternative routes via Clay Lane, Hall Lane and Crabmill Lane are not viable solutions as they flood simultaneously.
"This situation leaves us feeling trapped and helpless in our own homes," said a spokesperson.
"The construction of a housing estate without proper consideration for this ongoing issue has only exacerbated the problem.
"We fear that if left unaddressed, this could lead to serious consequences such as inability to access emergency services when needed.
"We implore Cheshire East Council to take immediate action on this matter. It is their responsibility to ensure safe and accessible roads for all residents, businesses, commuters and emergency services in Sandbach.
"We urge you all - fellow residents suffering from this issue or anyone who empathises with our struggle - sign this petition now!
"Let's make sure Cheshire East Council hears us loud and clear - we demand an end to the chronic flooding under Ettiley Heath Railway Bridge."
