Cancer sufferers set to benefit from coffee morning literally fit for a King

A group of women near Sandbach who have raised more than £90,000 for charity since 2012 have raised another bumper £2,2010.
The Milk Maid Marchers held another successful event, a Coronation coffee morning at Smallwood Village Hall, near Sandbach, in aid of The Christie Charity.

Chair Julie Thornhill said: "A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and supported us for our coffee morning at Smallwood Village Hall.
"We're pleased to announce a record-breaking total of £2,210 raised for The Christie Charity with some more jams to sell."

And the lovely ladies had one special guest there for the occasion – King Charles III himself – albeit in cardboard form!
"We did a similar thing for thing for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year so we thought we'd have the King this time," said Julie.
"It's become a bit of a standing joke and it certainly made a few people smile. We're so grateful for everyone who came along."
Now the Milk Maid Marchers are planning their next event, likely to be a charity lunch in August, date and venue to be announced.
