Car fire on the M6 near Sandbach

Firefighters from Sandbach went to the scene of a car on fire between junctions 17 and 16 southbound on the M6.

Two fire engines – one from Sandbach and one from Crewe - rushed to the scene yesterday (Wednesday) just before 2pm.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus spent an hour at the scene using a hose reel to put out the fire which was well alight before damping it down.
