Ex-Manchester City player and prolific goal scorer, Paul Moulden, delighted fans with an appearance in Sandbach to publicise his book.

The ex-Manchester City footballer made it into the Guinness Book of Records due to his goal scoring record, and was at Miola in Lodge Road last night (Monday) for a meet and greet and book signing.

Bolton-based Paul played for several teams including Manchester City, Hove Albion, Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town.

"Lethal 289 Goals in 40 Games" by Paul Moulden with David Clayton tells the story of Paul's amazing goal scoring success.

But Paul admitted this was down to his grandfather who taught him to be a two-footed player, being able to score with either foot.

"No one ever knew which foot I would use so being a two-footed player really helped," said Paul who admits he does miss the game.

His three sons, Joe, Ted and Louie have all followed in heir dad's footsteps and Paul still gets his football "fix" watching Louie, currently on loan to Rochdale AFC from Wolves, play.

Paul's former club, Manchester City, mentioned his Sandbach visit in a recent programme, as pictured below.

We told here how Miola owner, Louise Metcalfe, who opened a Holmes Chapel Miola last year, also owns a cleaning business which she started 30 years ago.

Louise's son, Wes Jobson, runs the Sandbach business and her partner Carl Farrow looks after the cleaning business, Done 'N' Dusted.
