Sandbach's world-famous Foden's Band is getting ready to take part in a major competition this weekend.

Foden's Band is competing in the British Open contest at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham on Saturday (September 10th).

And fans of the band, crowned the North West Area champions for the 24th time, will be able to see them play for free tomorrow night.

The musicians are holding an 'open' rehearsal at Sandbach School in Crewe Road at 7.30 pm on Thursday night (September 8th)

A spokesperson said: "Under the baton of Russell Gray, the band will showcase 'The World Rejoicing' by Edward Gregson.

"The rehearsal is free and takes place in the Theatre at Sandbach School."

Just before the summer break, the band played a celebratory concert with Chester Male Voice Choir at Chester Cathedral which included Respighi's 'Pines of Rome" - featured in this You Tube video.

Earlier in the year, they played at Sandbach Party in the Park when crowds watched the famous band play in Sandbach Park.

Tomorrow night's event will be another chance to see the band who are constantly collecting awards and accolades for their music.
