Class of 2023 praised for 'fantastic' set of GCSE and vocational qualification results
It was all smiles at Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College today (Thursday) where students celebrated a "fantastic" set of GCSE and vocational qualification results.
A queue of students, parents and carers waited in the hall of the Middlewich Road to sign up for the school's sixth form.
Thirty-seven students averaged grade 7s for all of their qualifications and there were 151 students achieving at least one grade 7 or higher.
Lots of subjects had exceptionally numbers of high grades too, where over half the students achieved grade 7 or higher.
This included biology, food, textiles, physics, religious studies, enterprise and marketing and creative iMedia.
Individually, were lots of students celebrating success including Harriet Ashley who achieved a magnificent 10 grade 9 GCSEs.
The following students all achieved grade 7 or higher for all of their qualifications: Maisie Paton, Jessica Barber, Lara Stanwell-Hughes, Jasmine Mitchell, Ellen Badu-Wilson, Shannon Hill, Kiri Nichol, Lucy Walker, Jessica Yeomans, Suprity Sharma and Lucy Jones.
Many students enrolled into the sixth form today, including some who will be joining the school for the first time in September.
Staff and members of the careers team were on hand to guide and support students on to their next steps.
Headteacher Ellen Walton said: "We are so proud of the class of 2023 and all that they have achieved today.
"These are a fantastic set of results that demonstrate how hard our students have worked."
