A MAN charged with a drugs offence after a cocaine seizure near Sandbach has appeared in court.

Thomas Conway, of no current fixed address from Crewe, appeared at Chester Magistrates' Court on Friday accused of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

The charge follows the 41-year-old's arrest near Sandbach at around 5pm on Thursday night.

Cheshire Police said their officers stopped a car on the A534 when "a quantity of class A drugs were seized".

Conway pleaded guilty to the drugs charge and was remanded in custody to appear at crown court for sentencing on October 8.
