Motorists face delays again - when work restarts on a major route going through Sandbach this weekend.

A sign has appeared in Middlewich Road saying "Road closed here 25.05.24 - 02.06.24, apologies for any inconvenience caused."

Cheshire East's Elworth councillor, Nicola Cook, said Scottish Power are returning to complete power cable replacement.

"The work will take place at the junction of Middlewich Road and Platt Avenue. I understand a sizeable section of Platt Avenue will be closed," she said.

"Cheshire East has asked for the work to take place during the half-term holiday to try and help with disruption.

"As ever I am grateful for residents' patience. We are all impacted by the disruption but this is essential upgrade work. I will definitely keep people updated."
