Two lanes of the M6 near Sandbach were closed last night (Thursday) after a large goods vehicle was leaking diesel due to a ruptured fuel tank.
Two fire engines from Crewe, one fire engine from Congleton, one fire engine and the Environmental Protection Unit from Runcorn, as well another fire engine went to the incident at 5.33 pm.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters used specialist paste to seal the leak, with hose reels on standby. The drains were protected to prevent any run off.
