The 26-year-old Curry twins have both been picked to play together in England's men's rugby team in the Six Nations match against Ireland in Dublin tomorrow (Saturday).

And the brothers, who came to Sandbach Town Hall last year as we revealed here to give a presentation to local school students about their rise to fame, will be keenly watched by one local sports club.

The duo both played first team cricket for Elworth Cricket Club and only last year, came back for an event where they were spotted by spectators.

And tomorrow (Saturday) the club lounge is set to be packed with members as they watch the Curry brothers go through their paces against Ireland. The Six Nations is an annual international rugby union competition played between teams from England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales.

Mike Price, chair of Elworth Cricket Club said: "We'll be having a good celebration if England win. Rugby has proved to be a very successful sport for them.

"They do come back here from time to time and are very level headed - there is absolutely no airs about them. They just chat to members and take part in events here.

"We'll be open for the Six Nation games and look forward to watching them. It's especially special here as the twins have such a local connection with us."

Ron Davies has fond memories of presenting Tom Curry with Elworth CC Junior Player of the Year in 2014 when he was chairman.

He joked: "I'd like to think I helped propel young Curry (T) to his current stratospheric heights.

"Had I known then what we know now, I wouldn't have washed that hand for a month!"

Sandbach Nub News and everyone else in the town wishes the Curry brothers the best of luck tomorrow.
