Sandbach United were right on target with their latest move – a networking event for the club's sponsors and other businesses.

And a former professional footballer, now team coach at the club, won a penalty shoot-out at the event.

Nub News' founder and Chief Executive Officer, Karl Hancock, gave a presentation about the business and how Nub News works at the event.

And Sandbach United's diversity and inclusion officer, Liz Clark, gave a presentation about groups involved with the club.

The club invited businesses to their ground in Hind Heath Road today (Monday) for a get together before England's first match in Qatar.

Club chairman, Pete Colclough and Nub News CEO, Karl Hancock.

Paul Rachubka, a former goalkeeper who played for Manchester United and a number of other clubs, and now coaches the Under 12s at the club, won the shootout. Paul now works as an accountant.

He said: "I'm passionate about football bringing communities together and Sandbach United does just that."

Club chairman, Pete Colclough, said he was delighted with today's event. "We invited our sponsors to come and get together with other businesses.

"It was well-attended and we're now looking at making it a quarterly event."
