Meet mum-of-three, Lor Bingham, whose family pets have literally been brought alive in her first book.

Lor's three children and herself all adore animals and breed guinea pigs as well as having a rabbit named Mary Earps and a hamster called Rusty.

Now the rabbit, renamed Cookie for the book and the guinea pig Tinsel, both feature in Lor's children's book - "A Cuddle for Christmas, Cookie and Tinsel Tales" - which was recently released.

Lor's daughter, June, a pupil at Elworth Hall Primary School features in the book, a warming Christmas tale where the pets come to life.

And pupils at the Sandbach school were treated to a reading of the book after June took it to school to show her friends.

Lor said: "I've been an editor and ghost-writer, for a while but this is my first book published under my name. I've always wanted to write my own book but never had the chance to do it.

"It's a nice cosy read creating the magic of Christmas. There are so many books about puppies I thought I would write one about other animals."

Lor, who used to work in health research and had brain surgery for a problem in 2019, hopes the book will bring joy to families and children alike during the run-up to Christmas and beyond.

"We've got a field at the back and that features in the story," said Lor who lives in Irelands Croft Close, Elworth.

"I'm writing a sequel to the book which will be published at a later date. The first book is a classic story which I've enjoyed writing."

"A Cuddle for Christmas" is available from Amazon here and at bookshops in Nantwich and Northwich.
