A farm park near Sandbach has temporarily delayed the opening for the new season after heavy rain battered the area.

Lakemore Farm Park at Haslington was due to reopen for the season on Good Friday) but owner Debbie Lewis has been forced to delay the reopening by what she hopes will be a few days.

Today (Easter Monday) the park opened for the season with a trial opening.

Lakemore Farm Park said on their Facebook page: " We're so pleased to say that after these three days of dry weather, the ground has dried up enough for us to trial opening the farm park safely.

"We're going to open however there will be some changes we need to make you aware."

The park, open between 10 am and 4 pm said:

- There will be extremely limited car parking available as we are unable to utilise the field car park.

- The mini golf will remain closed until further notice.

- The ground is still wet and muddy, so wellies and waterproofs are essential.

"We will continue to review this decision on a daily basis, and it may be that we need to close again if the heavy rains return but we will update social media if, and when, this is the case.

"Finally, we are lambing at the moment; please DO NOT enter the polytunnel if you are or may be pregnant," said Lakemore Farm Park..

It is the first time in 20 years of running the park that they have been forced not to reopen earlier as planned.

The Clay Lane farm park is a popular local attraction for families and local residents.

Lakemore Farm Park, whose website is here and Facebook page is here has been closed since October when the season closed.
