One fire engine from Middlewich went to a fire in woodland in Sandbach.

Firefighters used a hose reel and beaters to tackle the blaze in Moss Lane, Elworth, at 4.24 pm yesterday (Wednesday).

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "A fire in a woodland area required firefighters to attend and put it out with a hose reel and beaters.

"It is believed the fire may have started naturally, due to decomposition of undergrowth."
