A five vehicle accident on the M6 southbound yesterday (Sunday) led to delays for motorists from Sandbach and nearby.

Two fire engines from Lymm and Northwich went to the accident at 4.19 pm yesterday causing delays for traffic heading back after the end for many of half-term holidays.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Crews attended a five-vehicle road traffic collision in the fourth lane of the M6 Southbound carriageway.

"No one was trapped, firefighters checked all those involved over for injuries as a precaution. No one is reported as seriously harmed or requiring hospital treatment. "
