It looks like Sandbach and Holmes Chapel Manchester United fans are in for a treat!

The Mirror has reported that Sir Alex Ferguson is buying a house in nearby Goostrey to be nearer his son and grandchildren following the death of his wife.

According to the national news title, the former Manchester United manager has bought a five-bedroomed home in Goostrey – just a stone's throw from Sandbach and Holmes Chapel.

The village, which appears in the Domesday book of 1086, is no stranger to footballing legends.

England footballer, Raheem Sterling, lived in the village and now it looks like Sir Alex will be taking up a home there after buying a £1.2 million house in the idyllic village.
