Did anyone get chance to pop into Cheshire East's walk-in health and well-being service today (Tuesday) in Sandbach?

The bus was in Waitrose car park today and on Friday residents in and around Alsager will get a chance to check-out the service.

It is outside the Cedars Medical Centre in Sandbach Road South from 10 am until 3 pm.

A spokesperson for the service said: "Everyone is at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and some forms of dementia.

"The good news is that these conditions can often be prevented – even if you have a history of them in your family."

The free wellbeing check is like an MOT for your body, health, and wellbeing and takes about 20 to 30 minutes.

The check includes:

  • blood pressure checks
  • heart screening
  • advice on:
  • alcohol consumption
  • diabetes
  • diet and healthy eating
  • healthy wellbeing
  • living with Covid (importance of vaccinations, vaccination clinic availability, Covid-19 LFT kits)
  • mental health (including Mentell)
  • physical activity, exercise and fitness
  • stopping smoking
  •

Full details about the weekly location for the service are available at: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/livewell/health-matters/health-and-wellbeing-service/health-and-wellbeing-service.aspx
