Staff at specialist Sandbach grocery shop, Godfrey C Williams, are celebrating after the family-owned business won gold for one of their cheeses.

Cheese made by the Williams family's Crewe factory, Wensleydale and Cranberries, won gold in this week's Great Yorkshire Show.

And the award-winning cheese, made at the Lancaster Fields factory in Crewe will be available to sample on the cheese counter at the family's historic grocery shop in Market Square.

The Williams family said on Social Media: "David Williams Cheese won Gold for their Wensleydale and Cranberries, beating those Yorkshire cheesemakers at their own game!

"A big congratulations to David and the team! Both Wensleydale and cranberries, and Lemon Crumble (Wensleydale with lemon) will be on sample on our cheese counter this weekend!"
