Brothers Aaron and Charlie Briscall have gone from attending holiday clubs as kids run by a Middlewich-based sports firm – to running the firm's swimming hubs.

They used to attend Sports Coaching holiday clubs at Elworth Hall Primary School, in Sandbach, and were coached by Ross Kesteven and Chris Regan - directors of the Sports Coaching Group whose website is here - when they were just eight-years-old and 10.

Now around 11 years later Aaron, aged 21, and Charlie, aged 20, have been put in charge of the Sandbach and Middlewich swimming hubs run by Sports Coaching, based on the Brooks Lane Industrial Estate in Brooks Lane, Middlewich.

Former Sandbach School pupil Aaron, who is the Swim Lead, said: "Ross used to help me with my goalkeeping because I wasn't any good, but he really helped me.

"Both him and Chris looked after us during the holidays, they were always fantastic.

"During Covid, Ross contacted me to see if I would be interested in becoming a coach and that's where my career took off.

"It is also great to be working with Charlie, we have been getting on really well and make a good team!"

Charlie, who is on a Level 4 coaching apprenticeship and is Assistant Swim Lead, said that he was coached by Ross and Chris from the age of eight and enjoyed learning from them.

"They were great coaches and it has been amazing to get the opportunity to start work for Sports Coaching and get on a career path.

"Working with Aaron has been better than I thought, even though he doesn't always listen and zones out!

"We can have a laugh together but at the same time get loads of work done."

Assistant Swim Lead Kate Emery, who works alongside the brothers, said: "I'm made up with working with them, it's like being part of a family and I'm the adopted sister!"

Ross said: "It makes me feel a little old to think I was teaching them when they were so young and now look at them!

"As a company, we are really proud that they have been promoted and we are sure they will make a great success of running the hubs with Kate!"
