The Wheatsheaf in Sandbach temporarily closed on Monday (12 January) until Saturday (17 January) while it undergoes a makeover to celebrate its 10th birthday.
It's 10 years since The Wheatsheaf became part of Pear Hospitality and now the interior and outdoor terrace are being refurbished.
Now the much-loved venue in Hightown is getting a fresh look so it can step forward into the next decade. It will reopen at noon on Saturday (17 January).
Jake Pear, managing director, Pear Hospitality & Retail Holdings Ltd said: "This refurbishment is particularly meaningful for us as 2026 marks the 10th year of The Wheatsheaf under Pear Hospitality.
"Over the past decade, the pub has grown into a much-loved part of the local community and we'd like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our incredible colleagues and loyal guests for their continued support in helping us reach this milestone.

"The upcoming refurbishment has been carefully designed to enhance the guest experience while retaining the character, warmth and atmosphere that The Wheatsheaf is known for.
"Guests can look forward to a new colour scheme throughout, refreshing the space while remaining true to the Wheatsheaf brand.
"Inside, the coaching arch will be completely reimagined, featuring brand new seating arrangements, including comfortable booth seating and relaxed furniture, comparable to the existing bar lounge area. This will create a more inviting and flexible space for both casual drinks and longer stays.
"The outdoor terrace will receive the most significant transformation, with plans for this space to open in February.
"It will feature a completely new, improved structure, designed with comfort in mind, including double-glazed glass for insulation, new flooring, new furniture, and a stunning log burner that will allow guests to enjoy the terrace throughout the year. We are particularly excited about this new space as it would make a fabulous wedding ceremony area!
"We're incredibly excited about what's to come and can't wait to welcome guests back to experience the refreshed Wheatsheaf as we step into our next decade."
