An 11 year old schoolgirl from Sandbach is cutting her 28 inch long hair to raise money for the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis and children who have lost hair through cancer and ill health.

Brave Bethwyn Cotton became friends with a Ukrainian family last month and wants to help as many people as possible with what she has been gifted naturally.

The youngster has always been known for her 'Rapunzel' type hair and is taking the plunge next Thursday (May 5th) to have 22 inches of her stunning hair cut off at Vintage Salon in Welles Street, Sandbach.

Mum, Hannah Cotton, has set up a JustGiving page for people to make donations in support of her daughter's brave move which will go to the Ukrainian crisis and the Little Princess Trust.

Sian Taylor from Vintage Hair Salon said: "I'm so proud of Bethwyn.

"For years she's wanted to cut her hair, but never had the resolve to take the final cut.

"The bravery of our new friends from the Ukraine has demonstrated that we are each capable of taking action to help others, and what a wonderful way to help children with hair loss too."

Donations can be made to the 'Hair for Humanity' page at JustGiving: https:www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dechairforhumanity
