Sandbach Repair Cafe has celebrated its first birthday in style - and is looking forward to the year ahead.
The repair cafe, based at St Peter's church hall in Elworth, had a visit from Sandbach Mayor, Councillor Ann Nevitt and Deputy Mayor, Councillor John Arnold.
The well-used facility held once a month chose its October event to collaborate with Sandbach Pantry in a mini harvest festival.
Repair cafés are all about repairing things and Sandbach one is run by Sandbach Partnership.
"You bring your broken items from home and our fixers, who are unpaid local volunteers, will try and repair your item," said a spokesperson.
"You are invited to watch the repair, allowing you to take away not only your repaired item but a new shared skill.
"It's also an opportunity to meet new people and you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and/or home bake."
"We are happy to use our best endeavours on anything in need of repair (other than microwaves, white goods or safety items such as car seats)," the spokesperson added.
"Repairs are undertaken by Repair Café volunteer specialists, including clothes, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, bags/luggage, computer tech and toys.
"Repairs are free of charge (unless parts are required) and completed on 'best effort' basis. We are happy to accept monetary donations for a job well done."
The next session is Saturday 19th October at the slightly earlier running time of 9am until noon. The usual time is 11 until 2pm on Saturday at St Peter's Church Hall, Elworth.
