Haslington man jailed after providing alcohol to under-18s and sexually assaulting girl

A man from Haslington has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a party in North Wales.
Owen Zissler, 21, of Waterloo Road, travelled to the party where he provided alcohol for underage guests before assaulting the young girl.
Mold Crown Court heard how Zissler, then 19, went to a shop with the victim and her friend to buy vodka and beer, knowing the group were underage.

After returning to the party, the girl went upstairs to fetch something, with Zissler following.
He began kissing and touching her, behaviour she said was initially allowed, but ignored her clear refusal to engage in further sexual activity and assaulted her.
The girl's father returned home and was informed of the incident, immediately contacting police.
Officers arrived to find the girl visibly upset. Due to her level of intoxication, she struggled to remember the full details of the assault.
Forensic testing later confirmed Zissler's DNA on her clothing. Phone records revealed he knew she was only 14.
Despite multiple police interviews, Zissler gave no comment answers. He later admitted to engaging in sexual activity with a child.
In a victim impact statement, the girl described the emotional toll the incident had taken on her, including a loss of trust, depression, and a period of involvement with the wrong crowd.

The girl told the court she has since distanced herself from that environment.
Zissler was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years and handed a restraining order for the same period.
Mold Crown Court condemned Zissler's actions as a serious abuse of trust, causing long-term harm to a vulnerable young girl.
