It's a day of roadworks in Sandbach today (Friday)!

Nub News told here how several businesses were without electricity earlier in the week due to a power issue.

Utility workers managed to locate the source of the problem - power cables outside Iceland in High Street - and have had to close the road after digging a hole to repair the issue.

Nub News was told that the issue lies with old cabling which needs to be repaired fully to correct the problem.

Nub News was reliably informed that the issue had been caused by the hot weather with a product used many years ago with cabling which is no longer used nowadays.

Workmen worked through the night on the issue outside Iceland and are waiting until later tonight when they can start work again.
