A monthly farmers' market held near Sandbach was cancelled today (Saturday) due to Storm Amy.
High winds and heavy rain have swept through the area forcing organisers of Rode Hall Farmer's Market at Scholar Green to call the event off.
The market, featuring around 70 stalls, was due to be held today (Saturday) from 9 am until 1.30 pm but a message on the market's social media page yesterday (Friday) revealed the market was cancelled.
It said: "We have sadly had to cancel the market because of the forecast Storm Amy and high winds . It is not a decision we take lightly but the safety of all is our priority."
A sokesperson from the Met Office said: "Storm Amy, which formed as a distinct feature in the jet stream partly due to the interaction of Hurricane Imelda and Humberto in the Atlantic, will bring disruptive wind and heavy rain for much of Scotland, Northern Ireland, northwest England and northwest Wales from Friday afternoon and into Saturday."
