Historic Sandbach pub, the Market Tavern, suddenly closes its doors

A popular Sandbach town pub has closed its doors suddenly.
The Market Tavern in The Square closed earlier this week, with the landlords thanking customers on Social Media.
Robinsons Brewery, operator of the Market Tavern, said on their website that the pub was "temporarily closed".
Landlords, Kevin and Steve said on their Facebook page: "It is with very sad hearts we announce our departure from The Market Tavern.

"Fun as it's been, it's time to move on, Adios Amigos, Steve and Kev."
Sandbach Folk Club, who used a room at the pub for their Tuesday meetings, said: "After our long long association with The Market Tavern in Sandbach since 2007 we are sorry to report it is now closed.
"The landlords, Kevin and Steve, have decided to move on and we wish them all the best for the future.
"We've enjoyed some great musical evenings over the years and thank them for all their support. As for Sandbach Folk Club we will need to look for a new home on Tuesday nights. We will provide updates in due course."

A note on the door of The Tavern said: "Folk Club meeting at the Military Arms."
Robinsons Brewery, operator of The Tavern, said on their website here : "We're sorry for the inconvenience, due to unexpected circumstances, we're temporarily closed.
"We'll keep you updated as soon as we have more information."
