Historic village pub near Sandbach poised to reopen after major refurbishment

An historic pub near Sandbach which has been temporarily closed for a major revamp to take place is poised to reopen.
The Blue Bell Inn at Spen Green has been closed since earlier this year while renovations took place. Posts on social media tell customers to "mark their calendars for Monday, 6th May".
Owners, Pear Hospitality, who also own The Wheatsheaf in Sandbach, The Lion and Swan in Congleton and Pecks Restaurant in Brownlow Heath, say it will reopening soon.
Pear Hospitality say: "We're thrilled to announce that our beloved Blue Bell will be reopening its doors after an extensive refurbishment.
"Get ready to experience a whole new level of dining and socialising in a space that's been revamped to perfection."
Pear Hospitality, who bought the Blue Bell Inn in 2023 and applied to Cheshire East Council make changes to the layout of the building to increase the number of diners here
It also applied to remove internal walls, move the kitchen to the barn outside and incorporate the old kitchen into the restaurant space and provide a new covered entrance.
Pear Hospitality said when they bought the pub here that it would continue to be "the same charismatic, familiar country pub everyone knows".
