How Sandbach is marking Remembrance Sunday
By Deborah Bowyer 6th Nov 2026
Sandbach will mark Remembrance Sunday this weekend with its annual parade.
It's Remembrance Sunday (8 November) with the annual parade and service in the centre of Sandbach. The parade sets off from Sandbach School in Crewe Road at 10.20 am through the town.
There will then be a two-minute silence and wreath-laying at the War Memorial in Market Square followed by a Remembrance service at St Mary's Church. The parade will then return to Sandbach School.
In Elworth, there will be a service at Elworth Methodist Church at 10am after those present will walk to Elworth War Memorial at 10.50am.
Remembrance Day – also known as Armistice Day – on Tuesday 11 November marks the anniversary of the end of the First World War in 1918.
Alongside Remembrance Sunday, which falls this year on 8 November, it is commemorated each year to remember the sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth in armed conflicts.
