An inquest has been opened into the death of a man whose body was recovered from Winterley Pool over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Caleb Wayne Unsworth was found by a police underwater search team at the fishing water last Sunday.

He had been reported missing in the early hours of the morning that day (May 30). The 24-year-old, from Leigh in Greater Manchester, was understood to have travelled to South Cheshire to accompany friends on an angling trip.

The cause of his death is not suspicious and the Cheshire Coroner has opened and adjourned an inquest.
