Football fans across Sandbach are gearing up for tomorrow's big final but for one family, it's all a bit of a dilemma.

Cafes, restaurants and shops across the town are all throwing themselves behind the thought of England winning the Euros.

Football fever is literally gripping the town – from schools to shops to restaurants and other business.

Customers at Gibson's Greengrocer's & Deli were treated to special England-themed cakes and doughnuts for the occasion.

Owner, Emma Gibson, a Manchester City fan, who will be hoping her fellow team players bring home the title, says the cakes have been a huge success.

"We didn't realise they would be so popular otherwise we'd have ordered more. They have literally flown out the door."

Across the town, butcher and avid Stoke City football fan, Lee Parrott, showed his support by having flags in the window and a pavement sign saying "Come on England!!".

Lee said: "I'm a big football fan and we wanted to show some support for England."

Schools and nursery schools across Sandbach joined in the football fever, many getting children to hone their football skills.

Elworth Church of England School used the subject to put some fun into a maths exercise while others have included it in lessons in one way or another.

Even dogs are getting a taste of football mania – Cain9 Design Spa & Camp in Wheelock had a fun football ball sessions for dogs.

And residents across Sandbach are getting ready to watch the match in style including bride-to-be Wendy Hamer who is having a beach party to celebrate not only the football but also her up-and-coming wedding.

"It's a hen and stag do," said Wendy who lives in Elworth. "We've got a 6ft blow up palm tree, garlands and grass skirts. It's going to be fun."

But for restaurant owner, Raffaele Possente, it's a bit of a quandary because he and his English partner, Emma Little, will be watching the match together.

Italian born Raffaele, owner of the Casa Mia restaurant, supports Napoli and will be rooting for his beloved Italian team to win.

"Italy isn't an easy team to beat. We need to win," says Raffaele who has planned a special treat for dinners at his Market Square restaurant on Monday if his team win.

But his English-born partner, Emma, will be hoping that the Three Lions bring home the trophy.

The couple are hosting a dinner and will be watching the big match tomorrow night at home with family and friends.
