Labour candidate Colin Storey is elected to Sandbach Town Council

There is a new Sandbach town councillor.

Colin Storey, the Labour Party candidate, has been elected to Sandbach Town Council.

Mr Storey has been elected to represent Elworth ward.

He received 299 votes, 82 more than the next candidate.

Independent candidate Richard Hovey came in second place, with 217 votes.

The Conservatives Jason Knight finished third, with 165 votes.

Reform UK candidate Philip Pinto finished fourth, with 93 votes.

Callum Arthur for the Liberal Democrats received 76 votes, in fifth.

In total, 850 votes were cast in the Elworth ward.

Five ballots were rejected.
