A Sandbach librarian has launched a new group to aid dementia sufferers or carers in a cause close to her heart.

Karen Owen was involved in a similar thing when she worked at Congleton library and has now started a monthly group at Sandbach library.

"Bring Me Sunshine" was launched today (Wednesday) as part of Dementia Action Week and aims to bring a breath of fresh air to those attending.

Karen, who lives in Brereton near Sandbach said: "I have lost family to dementia and wanted to do something to help.

"I'm really pleased with the turnout today and to get it off the ground. All the activities are designed around memory."

Those who attended enjoyed a game of bingo as well as other activities such as spring and wildlife. The following two events take place on June 12th and July 10th.

The event is free with donations requested for refreshments. Further details available from 01270 375355.
