Man charged after woman, 57, dies in car crash near Middlewich

A MAN has been charged with serious motoring offences after the death of a woman following a collision near Middlewich.

The 57-year-old woman from Crewe was a passenger in a red Ford Focus travelling on Warmingham Lane last Friday morning (October 8).

Officers investigating the fatal collision have charged Liam Foster, 45, of Smallbrook Walk, Crewe with causing death by dangerous driving; causing death while disqualified from driving; causing death while uninsured and failing to stop after a collision.

Foster, who was arrested on Monday, has been remanded in custody and was due to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday).

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "The charges relate to a one-vehicle collision involving a red Ford Focus which was reported to police at 11.51am on Friday, October 8.

"Sadly, a passenger from the vehicle, a 57-year-old woman from Crewe, died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
