Mechanical fault is thought to have started a car fire near Sandbach

A mechanical fault is thought to have started a car fire in Winterley at the weekend.

Firefighters were called to Crewe Road at 11.03 am on Saturday morning.

A Cheshire Fire and Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters used one hose reel and breathing apparatus to put out a fire involving a car in Winterley.

"The fire is thought to have been caused by a mechanical fault."
