Mum-of-two Anne-Marie Robinson will never get back on a motorbike.

An accident riding home from her job in Manchester 10 years ago left her in hospital with multiple injuries and lucky to be alive.

Even today, the courageous 44-year-old from Wheelock suffers pain daily from her life-changing injuries which included a broken collar bone, shattered ribs, loss of a kidney and numerous other injuries.

Anne-Marie, the former vice chair of Sandbach Partnership who still volunteers for the organisation, needed eight pints of a rare blood group while in hospital which blood bikes helped to achieve in the time needed.

And it's because of this that the thoughtful mum is doing the Chester 'triple' - the Chester 10 k (completed on 8 March), the Chester half marathon on 17 May and the Chester marathon on 11 October.

Anne-Marie has set up a JustGiving page to raise money for Blood Bikes Manchester here

She said: "I've never run a marathon before so this will be the first marathon before which is a little daunting."

Anne-Marie's can't donate blood but her husband Darren, who has supported her throughout the ordeal, does and now the busy mum is gearing up for her next two challenges - the Chester half marathon and Chester marathon.

She added: "Stage one is complete - the Chester 10 k was a great atmosphere. My Strava recorded 10 k and my chip time was 1 hr five seconds."
